This 2 ½ day training and assessment is for individuals who require a nationally recognised LF Class Forklift Licence. The course provides supervised practical experience in driving a conventional forklift.

Duration:   2 ½ days incl. WorkCover assessment – full time
     
Pre-Requisites:  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a thorough understanding of both written and spoken English
  • Have 100 Points of ID – See Pre-Course Information
  • Must complete workbook and self assessment prior to attending scheduled class
  • Wear closed shoes, preferably safety boots
     
Suited To:  

People working in a warehouse or an occupation where forklift driving is required and who do not hold a current national certificate of competency for LF Class Forklift.

     

Course Content: 

 

This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift, including checking forklift condition, driving the forklift to fulfill operational requirements, monitoring site conditions and monitoring and maintaining forklift performance.

     
Assessment:  
Assessment is both practical and theory. Participants will need to be deemed competent in a pre-assessment prior to completing the formal WorkCover assessment. Successful participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck TLILIC108A as part of TLI07 Transport & Logistics training package.
Following the pre-assessment, participants must learn all answers to the 97 questions located in the manual provided for the theory assessment. Pay particular attention to the questions marked with a  as these are critical / compulsory.
     
Outcome:   On successful completion, participants receive a WorkCover NSW Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA) which is valid for 60 days. A $65 fee is payable to Australia Post for the licence card which is nationally recognised.

Please note: As of 13th December, 2008 NSW Proof of Age cards are no longer valid forms of photographic identification. All Proof of Age cards must be changed over to the NSW Photo Card available from the Roads and Traffic Authority of NSW.
