Traffic Control - Stop/Slow Bat (Blue Card)
To work as a Traffic Controller in NSW it is a Roads & Traffic Authority (RTA) requirement that everyone holds a current Traffic Controllers Photo Licence. This one day course is a simple and effective method in training staff that are required to use a STOP / SLOW bat. The course meets the work activity requirements of the NSW Occupational Health & Safety Legislation and RTA obligations.

Pre-Requisites: Participants must have:

Adequate literacy

A Drivers Licence (Minimum Provisional 2 - Green P)

A valid OHS Construction Induction ‘Green Card’ or Certificate. Students who complete the Traffic Controller course with no OHS Construction ‘Green Card’ will be issued with a Traffic Controller Non - Construction Licence (Grey Card). This is a restrictive licence.
Who should complete this course: Individuals that are required to use a STOP / SLOW bat.
Course Content:

Understand the role of a Traffic Controller

Apply the procedures of traffic controlling within a worksite

Operate a 2-way radio correctly

Promote the role of a traffic controller in the community
Assessment: Assessment is both practical and theory.
Outcome: On successful completion, participants receive a Statement of Completion in “OHS Work Activity Training for Traffic Controller”. An RTA Traffic Control Stop / Slow Bat Card will also be issued.
