This is a 4 hour practical course designed to equip candidates with the skills necessary to provide resuscitation assistance to a non-breathing casualty until qualified help arrives.
This course covers both theory and practical aspects of first aid including:
- Legal implications
- Causes of collapse
- Assessment of danger
- Responsiveness
- Airway assessment
- Breathing and signs of life
- Rescue breathing
- Complications associated with rescue breathing
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Introduction to defibrillation
- After care
Upon successful completion of the course and final assessment the candidates receive a VETAB accredited HLTCPR201A Perform CPR Statement of Attainment in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines which is valid for 12 months.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This course is an essential annual recertified qualification for all those who are employed as first aiders within the work place as recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council

shown on the day of course. Suitable ID
includes:
- Passport
- Drivers Licence
- NSW RTA Photo ID Card
- Proof of Age Card
