A First Aid course can save lives! Figures show that up to 150, 000 lives could be saved each year if there were more people who had completed a First Aid course. Nobody wants to be in a position where they are required to administer First Aid; but sometimes, these situations arise and having the relevant skills can be invaluable.
You may need to do a First Aid course for work purposes, want to learn First Aid techniques for your family, or maybe you just want to develop a new and useful skill. Whatever the reason, a First Aid course could make all the difference when it comes to saving someone's life!
The course applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
This First Aid course is suited to all persons, including:
- Construction workers

If your health or fitness restricts you from performing physical activities associated with this program, you will be able to participate but may not be eligible for a nationally accredited certificate.
This First Aid course combines plain English, videos, photos, and questioning to ensure all learners are able to have the best possible chance at comprehending the required knowledge and skills. If you believe you will need assistance due to your Language, Literacy or Numeracy skills, please contact our office on 02 9232 1010 to discuss your training needs.
There are 4 components to this program:
- Pre-study and assessments
- Theory training in the classroom
- Practical training in the classroom
- Assessment for both knowledge and skills
Students should allow up to six (6) hours for the pre-study to be completed. If you have completed first aid training in the past, you may be able to complete the pre-study assessments in a shorter timeframe.
The classroom session is an 8hr program including breaks.
If organising a onsite training, we can facilitate the First Aid course over two days to remove all pre-study training requirements. We also deliver this First Aid course nationally for onsite bookings.
Students will be assessed from the pre-study and classroom session. Assessment will confirm knowledge and skills have been achieved to demonstrate competency across the unit.
Students are offered multiple opportunities to demonstrate knowledge and skills throughout the program.
If a student is not successful in completing all assessments satisfactorily, they will need to rebook the First Aid course at the full course fee.

First Aid FAQs
- Do I have to do a Resuscitation Course every year?
You are not legally required to complete a resuscitation course each year. It is recommended, however, by the Australian Resuscitation Council. By taking a course every year, you will be able to demonstrate your resuscitation skills on a regular basis. Depending on which industry you work in, you may be required to take an annual CPR refresher course in order to comply with industry regulations or licensing requirements. TCP recommends that you do a refresher course every year so that you can keep up with any new techniques that are introduced and to ensure that you can effectively perform resuscitation.
- I completed a First Aid Certificate a few years ago, do I have to do the whole Course again?
Yes, first aid knowledge and skills are frequently changed so you need to complete a new course to ensure you are up to date with any changes.
- My First Aid Certificate expired 2 months ago, am I still current?
Unfortunately no, you will need to complete another first aid course.
- What is the difference between Apply First Aid and Senior First Aid?
Previously, the Senior First Aid course was approved by SafeWork NSW for delivery. Now, first aid approval is only issued to Registered Training Organisations (RTO) by each state’s registering body. The most current version of the course is titled Provide First Aid HLTAID003.
- Why does my Certificate need to be renewed every three years?
It is a requirement in most states and territories that a workplace first aider must renew their first aid certificate at least every three years to ensure that first aid skills are current.
- Can Centrelink pay for me?
What you need to do is register with your local Job Network Agent. Your Employment Consultant will make the booking with us on your behalf and arrange payment with us directly. Unfortunately Centrelink does not pay directly.
- Can I pay my package in installments?
Unfortunately we cannot offer this service, full payment of course fees are required at the time of booking. The good news is that we try to always offer value for money and keep course fees affordable, so you know that you are always getting good value, especially with our package deals which offer reduced prices!
- What if I have trouble with written/spoken english for a Course?
Most courses will permit a student to bring a friend to interpret for them during training. If you do need assistance, we ask that you contact first before booking your course so we can advise if there are any restrictions. For example, Forklift training requires students to complete all assessments in English.
If the course permits, you may bring a friend along to the course or, alternatively, you can phone the National Translation service to book an interpreter. Visit the Immigration website for more information about help with translating.
- What payment methods do you accept?
Payment can be made at the time of booking using either a credit card, EFTPOS or cash. Invoices and acceptance of company cheques is by prior arrangement only.
- When is my booking confirmed?
Your booking is confirmed once we receive full payment of course fees. Unfortunately there are rare occasions where the course will sell out prior to you finalising payment. In this situation a member of our customer service team will get in contact to organise an alternate training date.
The cost for this First Aid Course is $100 per person.
